Tony Ivey, Instructor

Tony Ivey

Tony Ivey has been a minister of music in Calhoun County for 20 years. He is the brass instructor for Alexandria High School’s Sound of the Valley Marching Band. Mr. Ivey is a Director of Emmaus Music, teaching private lessons in voice, brass, woodwinds, and theory. He also served as a vocal coach with CAST for Hairspray and is music director for The Addams Family (in production). Mr. Ivey has served as a judge and clinician in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Mr. Ivey attended Jacksonville State University and University of Alabama Birmingham, majoring in instrumental and vocal music education. He was a member of the JSU Marching Southerners, a Capella choir, and Chamber Singers. Mr. Ivey was a founding member of the JSU Show Choir, Encore!, and a founding member of the UAB Marching Blazers. He is a former bass trombone for the Heritage Hall Jazz Band and is currently a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society (Central Alabama and Nashville chapters).
